Designer Barbara was originally born in Shenzhen, but on account of her father’s business, later moved with her family to Europe, living for some years in London and Paris. Here she picked up a taste for fashion, especially the freedom of being able to wear outrageous designs, a freedom which she could not particularly enjoy back in Shenzhen. Although her parents returned to China, Barbara stayed on the in the UK to study fashion design, before returning to China, and setting up her own fashion label. In BLUEOXY collections one can see the influence of European and American fashion culture, but also dip penetration of Asian culture. Asian themed sequin motifs and embroidery adorn classic Western cuts, with flourishes of florals and lace.
